Purported Rosa Parks Residence On Auction Block

(Undated)  --  An auction is scheduled for next month, with the date yet-to-be-determined, for a house that has a connection to civil rights icon Rosa Parks and which was previously displayed in Rhode Island. New York City-based Guernsey's will auction off the home, which family members say Parks lived in when it was in Detroit after fleeing the South. The living space was exhibited earlier this month as part of a Rhode Island School of Design symposium in Providence. Brown University cancelled a planned showing of the house-turned-art-piece earlier this year after a dispute arose about whether Parks actually lived there.
