House Committee To Vote On PawSox Stadium Proposal

(Providence, RI) -- The House Finance Committee is scheduled to vote on a stadium-financing bill for the Pawtucket Red Sox on Thursday. House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello told "The Providence Journal" yesterday that the PawSox have told him they are "interested" in the General Assembly passing his proposed ballpark financing plan. The bill would need approval from the Rhode Island Senate, which passed a different iteration of the bill earlier this year. The House version funds the stadium with bonds backed only by revenue generated around the stadium.
