Providence School Bus Strike Continuing

(Providence, RI)  --  There are several new developments in the Providence school bus strike that is now over a week old.  Perhaps the most important is that the bus company, First Student, and the school bus drivers' union are reportedly planning to meet to resume contract negotiations on Tuesday.  Also, Providence School Committee Chairman Nick Hemond tells GoLocalProv.com that the committee will review its transportation contract with First Student on Wednesday.  In the meantime, Rhode Island Association of School Committees executive director Tim Duffy is suggesting that members of the National Guard drive the buses, but a Guard spokesperson says the state has not discussed that option, according to a report from The Providence Journal.
