Providence City Council Reluctantly Approves New School Bus Contract

(Providence, RI)  --  The Providence City Council is approving a new contract with public school bus operator First Student.  The deal was approved despite some council members saying they were hesitant because of the way First Student handled the recent bus strike.  Council Majority Leader John Igliozzi said First Student has been a bad actor in the process.  The city contract extension is for two years and 25-million dollars.
