Raimondo Promotes Plan To Help With Maintenance Of Parks, Beaches

(Lincoln, RI)--Governor Gina Raimondo on Monday touted her budget plant to provide a one-and-a-half-million-dollar annual boost to maintain the state's parks and beaches.Raimondo said at a press conference at Lincoln Woods State Park that the money will go towards the Department of Environmental Management's parks and recreation division and provide for the hiring of eight new employees. She said small increases in fees paid by recreational enthusiasts will be part of the revenue source, but that it would be far less than the doubling of fees approved by previous governor Lincoln Chafee in 2011.
