Former Legislator Sentenced To Home Confinement To Be Released Early

(Providence, RI)--Former state Representative John Carnevale is set to be released from home confinement next week.Carnevale was sentenced on a perjury charge after it was determined that the former House Finance Committee vice chairman lied to the Providence Board of Canvassers about where he lived in 2016.A spokesperson for the Rhode Island Department of Corrections says Carnevale has earned more than two months of "good time" credit, which shortened his home confinement that was originally supposed to go on until May.
