Coronavirus: Healthcare Executive Order Signed By Raimondo

(Providence, RI)--Governor Raimondo on Tuesday signed an executive order aimed at eliminating healthcare barriers during the coronavirus crisis.Details of the order include: insurers cannot make changes to what drugs are covered unless the changes benefit patients, insurers are required to relax the referral process, and in-patient hospital and rehab, long-term care and tele-medicine in-network services can't be suspended because of a lack of prior authorization.The protections last through May 27th, according to the governor.And for Rhode Island drivers who had trips to the DMV planned before the virus pandemic hit, it was also announced yesterday that the state is now giving 90-day extensions on expirations set for May
