Governor Reinvests In Post Pandemic Education

Governor McKee is making some 20 million dollars in matching funds available to school districts throughout the state that have been hardest hit by the pandemic.

The program calls for the creation of programs designed to help students catch up from lost time in the classroom.

Governor McKee calls it “a once in a lifetime chance to build a more equitable and resilient RI, especially when it comes to education.”

The Governor says "Over two years, the LEAP District Support Program will support districts in accelerating learning post-pandemic through a mult istep process that will dovetail the LEAP Task Force findings, RIDE’s 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, and the state’s District Accountability legislation to provide a centralized support mechanism for school districts."
