Providence City Clerk Resigns

The Providence City Clerk has resigned. Shawn Selleck says he is resigning rather than to go through the political theater of the City Council removal process. A removal hearing was being scheduled for later in the week. Selleck had been clerk for nearly two years. He was being accused of violating several policies It is unclear whether the city council will now comment on the report that led to the clerk’s removal process. In his resignation letter Selleck says that he has done nothing wrong and considers the entire process political.
