Arraignments Begin In Cranston Theft Case

The first of five defendants in a significant stolen goods case in Rhode Island has entered a plea of not guilty.

The Attorney General's Office is charging Luke Baughman for his alleged involvement in the theft of sports cards with an estimated value of more than a million dollars from the estate of Cranston native James Barbieri.

Baughman is a former Providence firefighter who was terminated in 2021 for an unrelated matter.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Johnston has put out a statement indicating that probate judge Priscilla DiMaio, who is also facing charges in the case, is being placed on leave pending the outcome.
