Governor Says Time Is Right For Washington Bridge Audit

Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee says he and his administration are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the recent closure of the westbound lanes of the Washington Bridge.

The governor also expressed confidence in his administration's handling of the bridge and the situation.

On Monday, the state Department of Administration announced an outside contractor would be hired to conduct a forensic analysis.

That side of the bridge was closed after several anchor rods were found severed or sheared.
