A judge has ordered a Providence man to be held without bail on charges in which he allegedly stabbed his sister to death and seriously wounded their mother.

Twenty-nine-year-old Wesney Clairsainvil pleaded not guilty to counts of murder, assault with intent to commit a felony, and disorderly conduct on Thursday.

He is accused of stabbing to death 28-year-old Daphney Clairsainvil outside her Adelaide Avenue home at around 5 am Wednesday, then attacking their mother, Raysia Dupera when she tried to stop him.

Dupera, who is 53, remains hospitalized. Clairsainvil has been ordered to undergo a competency evaluation.
