Pawtucket police say two teenage girls suffered broken bones and other injuries when a pickup truck hit them on a sidewalk in a crash caused by a distracted driver. WPRI-TV reports the girls were walking along Cottage Street shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday when a teenager driving a minivan struck the parked pickup, which was pushed into the girls on the sidewalk. The two girls were brought to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities say one girl suffered a broken foot and minor abrasions, and the other has three broken ribs and an arm abrasion. Police say the teen driver was turning up the volume on the radio and speeding when the accident happened. The driver was cited. Officials didn't release the three teenagers' names because they're juveniles.
